Finding Nemo

If you're looking for a movie that's funny and captivating that the whole family can enjoy then why not check out Disney Pixars Finding Nemo. It is a comedy/drama film produced in 2003. It was such a hit that the movie was re shown at the movies in 2012 in 3D and it was awarded the title of 23rd highest grossing movie of all time!
The movie received so much attention because it spread way past it's targeted audience to people of all ages. Everyone I know loved it weather they were old or young.

This film takes you deep below the surface down to the big blue ocean and into a colourful coral reef where talking fish, sea horses and octopuses are living just like we do above the water. The movie features two Clown fish (father and son Marlin and Nemo), a very forgetful fish named Dory and hundreds of other sea creatures from sharks to starfish. Unfortunately Marlin the clown fish's over protective ways cause nemo his son to be taken by a diver. It is then that Marlin along with a new fish he meets named Dory set of on a journey to find nemo who they believe has been taken to Sydney. Along the way the pair meet many other sea creatures who help them on their journey through the ocean to Sydney. Meanwhile Nemo has been placed in a big fish tank which sits in a dentists office, at first he is frightened but he soon meets the other fish and creatures in the tank who befriend him and help him make a plan to get out of the tank so he can go and find his father.

The famous comedian Ellen DeGeneres stars in the movie as dory along with Albert Brooks as Marlin and Alexander Gould as Nemo. Finding Nemo is a very enjoyable movie about courage and love to be watched by the whole family.

She's the Man

She's the man is a romantic comedy about soccer loving Viola who dresses up as a guy and takes her brothers place at his elite boarding school while he is in England. Once there she, while dressing as a he begins to fall for her roommate Duke however, she soon realises she is not the only one having love troubles! It turns out "Everybody has a secret....Duke wants Olivia who likes Sebastian who is really Viola whose brother is dating Monique so she hates Olivia who's with Duke to make Sebastian jealous who is really Viola who's crushing on Duke who thinks she's a guy..."

She's the Man is actually an adaption of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. There was a bit of controversy about weather the movie was suitable for children however most people believed that it was well suited to it's targeted audience. It was also talked about that Amanda Bynes (Viola) was terrible at attempting to play a boy but that her character was so lovable and amusing it didn't really matter. The film being classified as a romantic comedy was able to achieve many funny scenes and of course in the end every ones love problems are worked out and Viola and Duke finally get together.

For those who haven't seen this movie I definitely suggest you do. It will have you laughing and engrossed in no time. It is one of my favourite movies and plus if you love Channing Tatum as much as so many people do you will enjoy this movie!

Hathaway's dream becomes a reality

Finally after years of dreaming to win her very own Oscar Anne Hathaway has done it.

After playing the role of Fantine a struggling factory mother in the 2012 movie Les Miserables Hathaway won the award for Best Supporting Actress at this years Oscars. In her acceptance speech she stated "it came true", showing of how much she really had been dreaming of that moment. She also talks about how honoured she is to be nominated next to actresses such as Amy Adams and Sally Field. This award only adds to the many that she along with her co-stars and crew have been awarded for starring in and the making of Les Miserables

As fashion is such a big part of the Oscars Hathaway made sure she looked as Glamorous as ever as she walked down the Red Carpet in a lovely backless pink Prada dress showing off her new hairstyle.

As Anne Hathaway took to the Red Carpet she told reporters how blessed she feels for what has been happening for her over the past few months. She has played convincing and stunning roles in not only Les Miserables but also in The Dark Knight Rises and has also found her soul mate and now husband Adam Shulman who was their cheering her on as she was awarded her Oscar.

just a little on me and my blog

Hi anyone and everyone I'm Sarah! Here on my blog I post all about movies.

As you may be able to tell watching movies is one of my favourite things to do and I have definitely seen my fair share of movies. I post a lot about mine and other peoples views on movies but I also post about actors and actresses from time to time (I mean come on they are the ones who really make the movie good).
Even though I sometimes spend all my weekend inside watching the whole Harry Potter series I do enjoy getting outside and playing some sport or going to the beach. My favourite movies include Harry Potter, Pitch Perfect and Tangled but to be perfectly honest I really do enjoy to many movies to have favourites.
My dream is totally to meet someone like Zac Efron or Emma Roberts so I will try to remember to let you know if i ever do. But for now just enjoy my blog and if you have any questions or ideas on what i should write about in my next posts just comment on my most recent post.

Sarah :)

One final hurrah: The final chapter of the Twilight Saga recieves a mix of reviews

Over the years the Twilight Saga movies have been constantly getting mixed reviews. The Twilight books written by Stephine Meyer were such a big success that the films had extremely high expectations, some believe the films have achieved their high expectancy though many others feel the films have been disappointing and well basically a fail. The last of the Twilight films; Breaking Dawn part 2 was released in November 2012.

Despite receiving some negative feedback the movie was able to climb its way to rank number six int the top grossing movies of 2012 making $141.3 in just it's opening weekend! Say what you will about Twilight but we all have to admit that it has to be grabbing peoples attention to make that much money in its first few days of being released.

The film took a brutal hit at this years Razzies; an award show before the Oscars which awards the "worst of" in movies. It received 11 nominations and won 7 awards. The entire cast received the award for worst screen ensemble and Actress Kristen Stewart left the show with a Golden Raspberry Statuette. Follow the links below to watch the official Breaking dawn part 2 trailer and to hear more about the films appearance at the Razzies.

Just in it's opening weekend it is estimated to of made almost 230 million dollars. The movie had the fifth highest domestic grossing of 2012, just below Skyfall and the Hunger games and making more than the last part of the Twilight Saga and Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. The first showings of the movie beginning at midnight had hundreds of fans waiting in line to be among the first people to see it. Many critics rated the movie highly and with the Hollywood Reporter quoting "Jackson and his colleagues have created a purist's delight" it became a well recommended movie and began to soar past the amount of money any of the Lord of the Rings films made. The Hobbit did receive some poor reviews before it was released but it was unaffected by them as it kept earning money and made its way up the box office charts.
